answer 1
Oftentimes we see this behavior in puppies and usually they grow out of it. Meanwhile, be sure to clean up all signs of stool. Continue to use the Stool Eating Preventative tablets.
I would also add a small amount of MSG to the food; this has the effect of making the stool taste bad (sounds kind of funny, I know).
You might consider a "sting" operation: Leave a small amount of stool out, and spray it with a cayenne pepper solution, or tabasco, or bitter spray. When he eats it, he will recoil and begin to feel an aversion, based on this negative experience.
To make the point more forcefully, you can first spray some of the bitter or cayenne right into his mouth. This will not be pleasant. When he approaches the stool and smells the same scent on it, he will not be so tempted to eat it. Refresh the negative reinforcement by spraying his mouth with the bitter spray 1 to 2 times weekly, until the behavior stops.
Keeping him engaged in interactive and self directed play will also help keep his mind off his favorite dessert!
